What a YES or NO Vote Means

Ballot Question:

“Shall Dallas Area Rapid Transit be continued in the City of Plano?”

🟩 If You Vote YES

DART continues operating in Plano

• Light rail service stays at all Plano stations

• DART bus and paratransit continue

• Full regional transit access remains

• Plano stays a member city of DART

• The existing 1% sales tax continues paying for DART

• No disruption to current transit services

🟥 If You Vote NO

DART services end in Plano — but we still continue paying DART

• Plano begins the withdrawal process from DART

• The city must keep paying the 1% sales tax to DART until Plano allocated debt is paid-off, even without service

• Light rail service to Plano ends

• All DART bus and paratransit services end

• Plano loses direct regional transit access

• City must create or contract its own new transit system

• Potential service gaps during transition away from DART
